8/18/2025 - The District implemented the DID Alert system to send a Welcome Message to all contacts in our billing system. Cell phones received both text and voice messages and landlines received only voice messages. The DID Alert system also attempted to send the same message to emails that were on file with the District. District staff are happy to update emails and phone numbers as needed to DID Alert profiles (which are separate from District billing), but you can also do so yourself using this link. Reply STOP to any text message to end any further messages from DID Alert. Please read below for more information. -- DID Staff
Durham Irrigation District is proud to launch DID Alert, a new communication tool designed to keep you informed about:
• Emergencies: Receive real-time alerts for water outages, boil notices, or urgent situations.
• Maintenance Updates: Stay updated on planned repairs, system upgrades, or service interruptions.
DID Alerts works best with your valid cell phone number.
This free service ensures you always have the information you need, when you need it.
1. How to Sign Up - CLICK HERE to enroll today and choose how you’d like to receive updates—via email, text, or voice message.
2. For Customers Without Internet or Text Capability
We understand that not all customers have access to email or text messaging. If you or someone you know is elderly or disabled, we encourage you to designate a trusted third party (a family member, friend, or neighbor) to receive these notices on your behalf.
3. Trusted Third Party Sign-Up Requirements:
· The account number (or address if the account number is unavailable).
· A valid email or phone number to receive notifications. This ensures critical information reaches you safely and promptly.
4. Keeping the System Updated
· What if I move or sell my property?
New property owners may sign up to receive notifications. You can also update your trusted recipient if your situation changes.
· What happens to old lists?
To keep our records accurate, we refresh our lists as new customers sign up.
