Notice of Board Vacancy

NOTICE OF VACANCY ON BOARD OF DIRECTORS

(GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION 1780)

Notice is hereby given that there is currently one vacancy on the Board of Directors of the Durham Irrigation District.

This notice is provided pursuant to California Government Code §1780 to advise that the Durham Irrigation District (DID) Board of Directors will evaluate nominations for appointment to fill a vacant Director position at the regular Board of Directors meeting to be held on April 16, 2024.

The unexpired term of the vacant seat runs through the first Friday of December 2024, after which time the position will be held by the individual elected.

This appointment will not serve to extend any time to seek election for the next term of office following the expiration in December of 2024, and interested parties should contact the Registrar of Voters for Butte County immediately to ensure all timelines and requirements are met.

To be eligible to serve, a candidate must be a voter and landowner within the DID, and a resident within the District boundaries.

Deadline: Eligible candidates should submit a Statement of Interest by no later than April 11, 2024 by 12:00 pm.

A Statement of Interest form may be obtained from the Durham Irrigation District headquarters, 9418-C Midway, Durham, CA 95938, at the District’s website at didwater.org, or via email request to info@didwater.org.
